Where We Are and Where We Fish We live on Cudjoe Key which is located about 20 miles from Key West, and about 140 miles from Miami. It is a large Key between Sugarloaf and Summerland Keys. We are just 10 miles west Big Pine Key. Cudjoe is mostly a residential area, however there are a few local restaurants, bars, marinas, motels, and resorts. Whenever possible, I prefer for my clients to meet me at our local marina located on Cudjoe Key. However, occasionally I will trailer my boat up or down the Keys to other locations as conditions necessitate.
The fishing opportunities in this area are excellent, especially in the expansive backcountry. There are good flats right out the front door or the back door. All the major species can be found in this area. We will generally fish an area ranging from the Mud Keys to the Water Keys in the backcountry and from Sugarloaf to Bahia Honda on the Atlantic side.
