Fly Fishing
Guided Trips

Trout Stalkers offers many options for guided Montana fly fishing trips. The Madison River is our home stream, so we specialize in guiding on this great river. We cater to anglers of all skill levels, from beginner fly fishermen looking to catch that first trout on a fly, to the seasoned angler seeking a veteran Montana fishing guide who knows these waters like the back of their hand. Our experienced guides will work hard to help you have a first-rate Montana fly fishing experience.

In addition to day trips we offer some unique all inclusive Montana vacation packages in conjunction with the finest Madison Valley ranches and lodges. Check out our Fly Fishing Vacation Package Deals page for more information.

Please see our Rates page for guide fees, deposit and refund policies.

Full-Day - Typically a 7-10 hour day departing between 6 and 10 in the morning. We will provide beverages, lunch, flies, guidance, instruction, and rods & reels if needed. This is best way to get the full experience of fly fishing from a drift boat.

Half-Day - Typically 3-5 hours either in the morning, afternoon, or evening. Whatever suits you best. We bring flies, snacks and beverages.

What we use

The fabled Madison River is our home water.  We guide the majority of our trips on this wonderfully diverse freestone river anywhere from Hebgen Lake Dam to Three Forks, Montana.  That's about 120 miles of trout-infested water!

We also offer Full-Day trips, and in some cases overnight trips on other rivers including: Big Hole, Beaverhead, Yellowstone, Ruby, Gallatin, Jefferson, Missouri, and Big Horn. Please refer to the Waters We Fish page for more in-depth river descriptions.

Your guide can provide most all of the tackle you might need. Your guide will also not hesitate to delve into his/her own arsenal of favorite fly patterns in order to get the job done. Please visit our Equipment page for a list of necessary equipment and recommended fly patterns.

All anglers over 12 years of age will need to purchase their own Montana fishing license. These come in 2 day, 10 day and annual increments. Read more about Montana Fishing licenses
